Week 16 - User Testing #2

After last week's results we were very exited to continue with our user test on various people and see the effects shared music has on people who have never met each other before.
This week we matched the participants playlists and chose to play them a 'First Aid Kit' song, based on their favourite artists and songs. The general atmosphere in the car was a bit awkward at first - they were not making eye contact most of the time and were looking mostly Forward and sideways. We realised that moments of silence creates bigger awkwardness. But as the song kept on playing we noticed that the interaction between our participants became more calm, less awkward and pleasant - They Talked about the song and the band, which brought up a common topic - Sweden (one of the participants is Swedish and the other participant likes the band which is from Sweden).

Week 9 - Speed Mentoring
This week we met with mentors from the industry to hear their thoughts and advices on our idea.

Here are the main points that came up from our conversations:
- Where is the right place for the user to first meet our product? is it when they enter the car or even earlier in the choosing process?
- We want that the robot will help the user and sharpen his senses instead of doing the work for him.
- What about the security issue in carpools?
- We want to stay out of the natural interactions
- Is a robotic object really necessary here?
- Use an experience to bring quiet to the car
- We need to do more research on body gestures

After the meeting we decided it's time to do more user research and try to examine what is the root of the awkwardness in carpool rides.
We decided each one of us is going to give a carpool ride this week so we can try to see how people react when the driver doesn't want an interaction during the ride.
