Week 16 - User Testing #2

After last week's results we were very exited to continue with our user test on various people and see the effects shared music has on people who have never met each other before.
This week we matched the participants playlists and chose to play them a 'First Aid Kit' song, based on their favourite artists and songs. The general atmosphere in the car was a bit awkward at first - they were not making eye contact most of the time and were looking mostly Forward and sideways. We realised that moments of silence creates bigger awkwardness. But as the song kept on playing we noticed that the interaction between our participants became more calm, less awkward and pleasant - They Talked about the song and the band, which brought up a common topic - Sweden (one of the participants is Swedish and the other participant likes the band which is from Sweden).

Week 5 - Ideation
This week we adjusted to the revision phase.
First, we had a brainstorming session whose purpose was to solve the problem we had focused on over the previous weeks. In this brainstorming session we put forward every idea we had without barriers of reality / feasibility / usability / design, etc. Finally we divided the ideas we put into three groups - applicable, not applicable, surprising.
Some of the crazy ideas that came up were: cursing robot, ice breaker robot, funny chair, partition reactive light and more.

Then we did a time line representing the central synod of our problem.
In our time line a guy searching for a carpool goes throw several stages:
1. He look for a carpool in an app.
2. He waits for an answer
4. He gets a suggest
3. He checks if the suggest carpool fits him
4. He and his carpool set up meeting details.
5. He waits for his carpool in the meeting place
6. The carpool (which he never met before) arrives and they try to find each other.
7. He pays for his carpool taker
8. The awkward ride had begun
9. they get to their destination and say goodbye
Finally we did a brief improvisation game describing this situation including props and and a car space simulation to spice the act up.

In our sanrio a girl takes a carpool with a guy and she is not interested in taking to him (therefor the dividing hat). She tries to avoid a conversation and the guy keep trying to speak with her. What is she supposed to do in the situation? What is the driver supposed to do? he is doing her a favour at the end of the day.
