Week 16 - User Testing #2

After last week's results we were very exited to continue with our user test on various people and see the effects shared music has on people who have never met each other before.
This week we matched the participants playlists and chose to play them a 'First Aid Kit' song, based on their favourite artists and songs. The general atmosphere in the car was a bit awkward at first - they were not making eye contact most of the time and were looking mostly Forward and sideways. We realised that moments of silence creates bigger awkwardness. But as the song kept on playing we noticed that the interaction between our participants became more calm, less awkward and pleasant - They Talked about the song and the band, which brought up a common topic - Sweden (one of the participants is Swedish and the other participant likes the band which is from Sweden).

Week 18 - Movements
This week, we focused on the design of Cooper. We Bought readymade plastic balls in order to make our ideation more palpable. We played with the materials and tried to think about sizes, movements and space requirements for the mechanical parts. One of the biggest challenges we had is to find enough space for two motors inside Cooper in order to make wide range of movements during the ride.
With the help of Ani Dwilanski, Milab Industrial design mentor. At first we decided to start with one motor demo, and maybe add another motor after collecting enough data from Cooper movement user testing.
Besides design and building process we did user testing with two people, because Cooper is still in construction, we tried this week to move Cooper manually and see how people react.
They had been asked what was their feeling after the test. In conclusion of these two test, we were happy to hear that the two Participants named Cooper as "he". One of the Participant smiled when cooper looked at her, and other one filled little threatened.
Next week, we will continue testing the movements and maybe try to change movement speed and see if it will change people reaction.
